How to encrypt a document for a notary, surveyor or land surveyor? (P7m file)

For historical reasons, the subscriptions for notaries, surveyors and land surveyors includes the encryption feature. The below process requires that the recipient of the file has also this feature for it to be decrypted via the Entrust software:

 

  1. Right-click on the file you wish to encrypt and select Entrust Encrypt File
  2. Confirm the file to encrypt by clicking on Next
  3.  Encrypted options are now displayed, the deault values don’t need to be modified
    1. If the file is for you, click Next
    2. If the file is for one or more specific persons:
      1. check the box Encrypt the files for other people in addition to myself
      2. Click on Add to access the list of certificates owners
      3. Search for the recipient(s) of the file
      4. Once the reicpient is selected, click Ok and repeat this operation for the other recipients if any
      5. When all the recipients are added, click Next
      6. This last window will show you the files encrypted during this operation, click Finish to complete the encryption
      7. You can now share the file with the recipient(s)
