Your security policies require frequent Java updates?

ConsignO Desktop and CertifiO Manager include a distribution of Java 8 Server (Server JRE – Java 8 Server Runtime Environment). When we publish a new version of software, we make sure to use the latest security update from Java 8. Our software releases are not necessarily aligned to Java 8 updates calendar, which occur approximately 4 times a year.

If your organization requires that computers always run the latest Java update as soon as it is published, you need to put in place the procedure below.

ATTENTION! Although Java security updates do not usually cause problems, the update is done at your own risk. You are responsible to ensure that the software works in your environment afterwards.

  • CertifiO Manager
    • Upload Java 8 runtime (Server JRE). Use the 32-bits version that uses the format .tar.gz
    • Replace the content of %APPDATA%\Notarius\certifio-manager\jre with the folder \jre included in the downloaded update package.
  • ConsignO Desktop
    • Upload Java 8 runtime (Server JRE). Use the 64-bits version that uses the format .tar.gz
    • Replace the content of C:\Program Files (x86)\Notarius\ConsignO 3.7.5\jre with the folder \jre included in the downloaded update package (adjust the ConsignO Desktop directory name based on the version installed).
